SHC at The Courtyard recognized by U.S. News & World Report for quality care

Marianna, Fla. – Signature HealthCARE at The Courtyard has been named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Nursing Homes 2014 list.

The news magazine and website each year publishes a list of the best nursing homes in the United States based on data from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The list is designed, according to U.S. News & World Report, to help the millions of Americans who will spend time in a nursing home this year.

According to CMS, about 60 percent of people in the U.S. will need some type of long-term care services in their lifetime, and over 40 percent will receive care in a nursing home for some period of time. CMS gives nursing homes a star rating based on key metrics including staffing, health inspections and quality.

SHC at The Courtyard is one of 24 nursing centers operated by Signature HealthCARE named to the list. More than a fourth of Signature’s centers now have a five-star CMS rating, and nearly half have a four-star or five-star CMS rating. Signature has a record of acquiring challenged health care facilities and improving their level of care, and in the process, improving their star rating.

“We’re thrilled to be named among the nation’s best nursing homes and will do our best to continue providing compassionate, quality care and programming for our residents and staff,” said facility Administrator/CEO Samuel Tate.
