On January 4,2013, Elsie Mae Dawsey arrived at the Courtyard for Rehabilitation. She was very discouraged because she was paralyzed on the left side.  She was unable to roll from side to side and required two people to transfer her out of bed.  Elsie Mae was previously a very active lady, who faithfully visited her sister who also lives here at the Courtyard.  Ms. Dawsey looked at us with a determined look in her eye and said, “I’m going to walk out of here one day!”

Here we are, two months later, and Ms. Dawsey is walking with hand held assist only.  She transfers from the bed with stand by assist only.  Ms. Dawsey still faithfully visits her sister every day.
